Our housemate Dave moved out recently and in keeping with Nova protocall we were required to endure a "house inspection". At exactly 12 yesterday a team of Nova inspectors arrived at our door. Now, as part of the house inspection, we were informed that if the apartment wasnt cleaned to standards, then Nova would clean for us, at our expense. So, James and I decided to give the apartment a good scrub before hand. Turns out this made little difference.
The Nova crew arrived and immediately started cleaning our sink, and scrubbing our bathroom. We tried to protest, saying we had just cleaned those things yesterday, but ahhh the Japanese to English barrier was (intentionally on Nova's part) impossible to overcome. They just cleaned away, oblivious to our protest. To make matters weirder, one of the cleaners was a Japanese midget. James refered to our apartment as the circus house for the rest of the day. I dont know how much we'll have to fork over to Nova for the experience of having our clean apartment cleaned, but once again this is another example of Nova trying as hard as they can to extract money out of its teachers.
